Today in France authorities found the buttons in elevators from Otis had the radio active material cobalt-60 in them which came from India. The accident was classified as level 2 on the International Nuclear Event Scale. The scale goes from zero, which means no safety risk, to seven, which means a major accident. The Mafelec workers producing the buttons were exposed to doses of radioactivity ranging from one to three millisievert (mSv). However, three mSv are not considered to be a big health risk.
